I Want To Be Like Coco!... Timeless and Chic!
I don't know if you're a color obsessed passionista like me, but I imagine as all of us do, we evolve and tweak our personal and style appearance every now and then!...
My closet is FILLED with every immaginable color in this planet! Red... well, all sorts of the like. Fuschia, Coral, Bright Colors have been the order of the day! It shouldn't surprised me that I hardly have neutrals or worse: BLACK or WHITE! YIKES!
In the means of getting the most out of this singular combination, I started looking for inspiration in the purchase of simple, elegant yet understated pieces. My muse? The one and only COCO CHANEL! The best influence and fashion advice that one could receive was from the infamous inventor of the little black dress, mens-wear-inspired fashions, beautifual millinery and of course Chanel No.5!
Coco did more than being a pioneer in the fashion industry by living way ahead of her time! Her most valuable work was letting us know by example that we can be very strong spoken, independent, talented and creative. All of us women have a voice!
This is a simple homage to one of my favorite fashion designers of all time. For the woman that has made me fall in love in black and white all over again. Thanks Coco!
Hola Passionistas!

Five Fashion Trends For 2010 Golden Globe Awards
Hello Passionistas:
As you should know, I am always on track trying to comment about fashion trends and as you, I am OBSESSED with celebrity fashion! I would like to share with you five of my favorite trends from this year's 2010 Golden Globe Awards!
#1- Nude and Neutral Tone Dresses- They seem sensual, natural and luxurious. With the perfect accessories and makeup, nude or neutral colors are the perfect colors for any skin tone.
#2- Purple/Berry Colors- To see crimson, purple, plum and berry colors on the red carpet was so refreshing rather than the soooo predictable black and red hues.
#3- Art/ Architecture Inspired Dresses- Maybe not all of them made my best dressed list, but I have to say that the most interesting and amusing dresses were those inspired by art, architecture. It reminded me of days where fashion was so new, ingenious.
#4- Ruffles- Not that they never go out of style, but I loved that one of my favorite fashion staples was a repeated success for this year's awards.
#5- Latin and Hispanic Fashion/Celebrities- I was so excited to see Sofia Vergara, Kate Del Castillo, Camille Belle, Zoe Saldana and other latin celebrities. And I certaintly had a breathless moment when Jennifer Morrisson walked the red carpet in a gorgeous yellow ruffled dress by puertorrican fashion designer Luis Antonio! Orgullo latino! Kudos to all!

Be Your Own Style Icon! Re-Vamp Your Wardrobe With The Basics!
Now that you got your annual closet cleanup in the works, it is time to throw out things that no longer suit the image you want to project to the world. Because after all, fashion will always fill the inevitable role of presenting you or misrepresenting you... Ouch!
So out with that trendy size 2 dress that you bought years ago with the hope that you will eventually fit in them...
A good passionista knows when and how to edit and better yet, select wisely the fashion pieces and staples according to her daily life, body type and silhouette. A great passionista also pays attention to having in her wardrobe:
#1- The Little Black Dress- The little black dress plays a crucial part in bringing practical, simple and elegant style to your wardrobe. The ideal black dress may feel understated at first glance but really evokes power. Versatile, this wardrobe piece can be dressed up and down with the correct accessories to create daytime and nightime looks for you!
#2- The Classic White Shirt- Think American Pie, Think about all the possible combinations you can use with your white shirt. Jeans, check. Trousers, check. Skirts and Gowns, check. A lot more than you expected... right?
#3- Cardigan, Turtleneck or Sweater- Great for different kinds of weather and for layering, personalizing your outfit. You might even substitute your blazer with a belted cardigan or sweater for a fresh, polished look at the office!
#4- A Trench Coat- Light weighted and user friendly whether in hot or cold weather. Best purchase is one in neutral colors so that you can use with any color combination.
#5- Denim Jeans- Whether you prefer the boyfriend jean, the flare jeans or the skinny jeans (my favorites), there's no sense in denying that denim makes us feel usually more at ease. Sometimes sexy, edgy or rebelious!
#6- Accessories- Accessories play an important part in completing your look. They may be used to establish the difference between a daytime/nighttime look creating drama. Accessories such as a practical watch, earrings (ideally studs), high-heel pumps and/or ballet flats, belts and handbags are a great to add variety while sprucing up what you have. A good selection of accessories may seem like you bought a whole new wardrobe.
Well, hope you can create an outstanding closet wardrobe fit for queen... YOU!

A Closet Made in Heaven!
Photos Achive by Domino Magazine
As the new year is in progress, some of you wonderful passionistas are considering doing a complete cleanup of your closets or better yet, organizing yourselves in every way possible. If you are like me, one of my goals for year 2010 is a new closet and of course, new clothes right?
I started flipping out through my collection of Domino Magazines and came upon some gorgeous closet pictures of Eva Jeanbart-Lorenzotti, fashion entreprenuer, and in my opinion one of the best dressed women of all times. She is the creator of my one of my favorite websites: www.vivre.com.
I am loving the beautiful french-mirrored doors, how creativity and finesse can be found all in one wonderful place! And of course her impecable taste shows with all her displayed couture wardrobe! Hope these pictures inspire us to make the most of our closet dilemmas!
